Important Note: — Generally, For each credit hour of a lecture class, students should expect to spend two hours per week(outside of formal class time) to study and complete assignments. The number of hours required to receive course credit is listed under “Other Hours” on the syllabus. For example, a 3 credit hour class may require up to an additional 6 hours (outside of formal class time) each week to study and complete assignments. Note that courses offered in other modalities (e.g. synchronous, online, etc.) have equivalent workloads. Furthermore, courses that have higher credit hours or meet in shorter parts of term (e.g. 14-week, 8-week, flexibly scheduled, etc.) will require more weekly instruction time and out-of-class study. When scheduling courses, students should plan the appropriate amount of time for in-class and out-of-class study.

The United States Department of Education requires all institutions of higher education to be certified in any state in which they have students. Cuyahoga Community College has been accepted by The Ohio Department of Higher Education into NC-SARA (State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement). This provides Cuyahoga Community College authorization to accept students from other NC-SARA member states. Additional approvals may be required for activities such as out of state clinical work. Some programs requiring licensure are not currently covered by the NC-SARA process and students outside the state of Ohio are encouraged to research their individual states requirements. Tri-C is not authorized to offer online programs in California* and Northern Mariana Islands. Please visit www.nc-sara.org for a list of current NC-SARA members, states and provinces.
*California can be taught to if a similar program is not offered "on ground" within 50 miles of the student's residence.
